How to Measure for a Baby Headband / Infant Headband!

You’ve probably seen girls all over town sporting adorable, fashionable headbands. You’ve probably also seen similar girls wearing headbands that fall off their head or push hair forward into their eyes. The trick to dressing your girl in the right headband is all about measuring for the perfect fit. At BloomingBows.com we want to help you get it right the first time.

To determine a size when ordering from Blooming Bows, use a soft, fabric measuring tape to measure the head where you want the headband to be seen or sit. Make sure it’s a comfortable spot where it will feel natural to wear the headband for long periods at a time to ensure comfort as well as fit. Once you’ve determined the location for measuring, pull the tape slightly tight – as tight as you think the headband should be & determine the circumference. Write down the number and refer to the chair below.

Type Age Size (in inches)
Newborn – Size A 0-4 months Head sizes 13½ to 16 in.
Toddler – Size B 4 months to 4 years Head sizes 16 to18 in.
Girls – Size C 4 years & up Head sizes 18 in. & larger

It is important you choose the right size for your girl as purchasing a headband too large will cause the headband to slip off your little girl’s head and not hold the hair back as designed. If you choose a headband too small, it will most likely pinch your little girl’s head and cause discomfort or headaches from the pressure caused by the headband.

Headbands sold at Blooming Bows are functional and generally last for several years due to the flexibility in sizing. Girls can enjoy their headbands for years to come as the design of our headbands allows the headband to stretch as your girls begin to grow over the years.
